A young Gladbrook family is searching for answers after a fire Monday destroyed their rural Gladbrook home. Jason & Megan Giener had just arrived at a family Christmas gathering in Cedar Rapids when they were informed that their home was on fire, and the couple reported nothing amiss before they had left only an hour prior. The home was built in 1921 and was a total loss along with 2 vehicles in the garage. State fire officials are still searching for a cause but high winds are blamed for causing the fire to spread quickly.
