Michigan Man Who Abducted Girl is Sentenced

The Michigan man who abducted a 12 year old girl from Waterloo on Easter has been sentenced, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. An Amber Alert was triggered this past Easter Sunday when the girl went missing. She was later found with 23 year old Daniyal Khan of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Khan and the girl had met on SnapChat some time before Khan decided to drive from Michigan to Waterloo where he waited outside her home for more than a day before kidnapping her. Khan said he thought the girl was 20, despite discussions on SnapChat showing he knew she was 12. At trial, he was found guilty of Child Stealing With a Sexual Motive, Grooming, Enticing a Person Under the Age of 13, Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, and Indecent Contact With a Child. Khan has been sentenced to 20 years in prison and will be on parole for 10 years following prison. He will also have to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
