A crash at a newly made four way stop in Black Hawk County sent three people to the hospital Thursday morning. Sheriff Nathan Neff says that around 6:20 a.m. a Chevy Traverse driven by Matthew McMahon, of Raymond, was traveling eastbound on Dubuque Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign. He collided with a Buick Enclave driven by Kimberle Bellendier-Oliver, of Lakeland, Florida. Both drivers and a passenger in the Enclave were taken to the hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening. The stop signs on Dubuque Road were only installed on Wednesday, the day before the crash, but they also installed rumble strips and message boards that should have alerted McMahon to the new stop sign. The stop signs were added after the intersection was identified as one of the most dangerous intersections in Black Hawk County.
