Area athletes did well Thursday at the State Track and Field Meet in Drake Stadium.
For Waverly-Shell Rock: Mosai Newsom was 11th in the shot put, Grace Hoins was 14th in the 400 meter dash, and the girls 4×800 meter team finished 13th.
For Janesville: Lily Liekweg was 5th in the 1A long jump.
For Tripoli: Eric Henry was 15th in the 1A shot put and the girls 4×800 meter team was 21st.
For Wapsie Valley: Abe Silva was 20th in the 1A shot put and Conner Brandt was 16th in the 1A 400 meter dash.
For Denver: Eli Barrett was 9th in the 2A long jump, Mason Neisen was 12th in the 2A shot put, Caroline Stokes was 18th in the 2A 3,000 meter run and the boys 4×800 team finished 5th.
For Sumner-Fredericksburg: Becca Pagel was 18th in the 2A long jump and Jordan Burrows was 18th in the 2A 400 meter dash.
For Clarksville: Kori Wedeking was 2nd in the 1A 3,000 meter run.
For Don Bosco: Zach Nie was 11th in the 1A mile.
For Dunkerton: Jordan Yessak was 13th in the 1A mile, Hannah Johnson was 16th in the 1A 400 meter dash and Holden Gillespie was 6th in the 1A 400 meter dash.
For North Butler: Morgan Ajes was 18th in the 1A 400 meter dash.
The State Track and Field Meet continues Friday in Des Moines.
