Cedar Falls is preparing for a $32 Million School Bond Vote to address overcrowding in the cities schools. Some students currently use portable trailers for classrooms and administrators say these can be dangerous in the event of emergency weather or lock-down situation. The proposed project will add 6 new classrooms to the Orchard Hill Elementary School and also build a new Elementary School in the Southwest area of Cedar Falls. The project is expected to cost $40 Million and the vote is scheduled for April 5th.
