Shooting Victim Dies

A Waterloo man has died from the gunshot wound he received Monday night during a burglary, according to the Waterloo Police Department.

Police said 39-year-old Cedric Craft died Thursday morning. Officers are now investigating the incident as a homicide.

Investigators said about 7:10 p.m. Monday officers responded to a burglary in progress at 121 Courtland Street. Officers found Craft inside the house with a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency crews took him to a local hospital and then to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where he later died.

Police said they did not find any suspects at the scene. They have not yet made any arrests.
