Future of Municipal Internet Services

The FCC has voted to end Obama-era legislature on Internet services that would give Internet service providers more control on how they do business.

One question raised by this action is if municipalities across the country will start providing their own internet services, such as what Cedar Falls and Waverly do, or if there will be a push-back from larger companies?

Darrel Wenzel, CEO of Waverly Utilities, comments on how the future of local internet providers looks going forward:

Wenzel says that there are currently 20 states in the US that have outright banned municipalities from creating their own internet utilities business.
