Spike in Kennel Cough

Area vets are warning dog owners about a spike in kennel cough, even if your dog has been vaccinated they may be at risk. Doctors say dogs can be infected with kennel cough even by interacting with objects other dogs coughed on.Your dog may eat, drink and play normally, but you need to keep an eye on them if they start coughing. Kennel cough is a hacking non-productive cough and can get worse with exercise.

Vets advise keeping your dogs away from dog parks for the next couple of weeks to prevent them from potentially becoming infected. If your dog does become infected it typically takes three to 10 days to see those symptoms, it also takes at least two weeks to run its course.
