Classes in the Union Community School District have been cancelled today but not because of impending weather. The school announced on their Facebook page last night that a staff member had been diagnosed with norovirus. In the post they say norovirus is a very contagious virus that can infect anyone. It can be passed on by the infected person, contaminated food or water or by touching contaminated surfaces. With that in mind the school district will bring in the Department of Health to do what they call a thorough, intensive cleaning of all surfaces. With no classes in session this can be done uninterrupted. If you have any questions they ask that you contact the District Office.
