The American Rivers Conference announced this week that their schools would play a conference only schedule for the Fall. All sports except football will have a round-robin style schedule. Football will play a maximum of five games.
Wartburg football coach and athletic director Rick Willis explains why.
The schedules have not been set but the conference will likely divide into Eastern and Western divisions to save on travel.
Willis says a conference championship will likely not be awarded for football.
The other sports will likely award a title.
