Black Hawk County election officials have set the deadline to request an absentee ballot for the special election to fill a vacant city council seat in Cedar Falls, according to KCRG. The deadline will be Friday, July 24th for the August 4th runoff. The special election pits LeaAnn Saul against Kelly Dunn to determine who will take the council seat left open by Rob Green after he was elected mayor. Saul and Dunn were the closest to picking up a simple majority of the vote in the original election back on July 7th, however because neither crossed that threshold the August 4th runoff was needed.
