Agvantage FS in Waverly and Nexus Cooperative in Charles City have agreed to an asset exchange. In the trade Agvantage will acquire the Elgin, Lamont, and Randalia agronomy assets from Nexus. Nexus will receive the Aplington, Chapin, and Dewar grain assets from Agvantage. The exchange is expected to be finalized in August. Both companies have agreed to work in close cooperation to ensure there are no disruptions to farmer service during the transition. Each company will honor all existing contracts at the newly acquired locations. The exchange was done after extensive discussions regarding how the companies could better utilize their facilities, staff, and other resources.
