The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has issued an air quality advisory for this area of the state through 10:00 p.m. Friday night. The advisory states that “elevated levels of fine particulates may be a concern over the next several days as the smoke moves through the state.” The DNR is recommending people reduce long or intense activities and take more breaks during outdoor activities until conditions improve. They say this is especially true for those with heart and lung disease, older adults, children, teenagers, and outdoor workers.
