Alcohol Compliance Checks

Cedar Falls Police performed I-Pledge compliance checks sponsored by the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division and caught three store clerks selling tobacco, alternative nicotine, or vape products to a minor. Underage undercover operatives supervised by police were sent in to a total of 41 stores to attempt to purchase products they were too young to buy. 37 year old Rahman Maqsood of Bani’s Liquor and Tobacco, 26 year old Vikash Vikash of Prime Mart, and 19 year old Alexia Downs of Panther Travel Center were all cited in the sting. Selling these products to minors carries a $135 fine for the first offense, $325 for the second, and $645 for the third or subsequent offense.
