A Milwaukee man wanted for allegedly killing his girlfriend and trying to kill his daughter has been arrested in Waterloo, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 47 year old Simone Hughes was found in a home in Waterloo Wednesday. He ran from police as they closed in on him and hid in a car, locking the doors. Police were able to eventually take Hughes into custody. Milwaukee Police say Hughes’ teenage daughter reported hearing her parents fighting and her mom telling her dad that she no longer wanted to be with him. Hughes then allegedly hit his girlfriend, 41 year old Quinette Walters. Walters ran from the home but Hughes chased her and shot her to death at point blank range. His daughter locked the door behind him at this point and ran to her room. Once Hughes gained entry back into the home the daughter jumped from a second floor window. Hughes then shot his own daughter from her bedroom window. The daughter survived, however. A neighbor also witnessed the entire event.
