Allen Media Group is making more changes at KWWL, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Current news director, Andrew Altenbern, will be replaced by Lisa Burger after Altenbern’s contract was allowed to expire. Burger will serve as news director for KIMT in Mason City and WREX in the Rockford, Illinois as well. She was most recently the news director at Nexstar stations in Sacramento and Fresno, California. Allen recently negotiated the exit of legendary KWWL anchor Ron Steele, who had been with the station for 51 years. Prior to that Allen tried to get rid of all of their meteorologists from all of their stations before reversing course among immense backlash from the public.
