It was a big day for a brand new officer in the Waverly Police Department Monday. Officer James Johnson took the Oath of Office from Mayor Adam Hoffman, becoming the newest member of the Waverly Police Department. Johnson graduated from Iowa Central Community College with a degree in Criminal Justice. Later in the day Johnson asked his girlfriend to marry him. She said yes. It also was reportedly Officer Johnson’s birthday Monday.
