All of Iowa tuned in to see if their very own Maddie of Clarksville would be the winner of American Idol.
She made her final performances Sunday night along with the other two finalists, Caleb Hutchinson and Gabby Barrett. Americans voted for their favorite, and it was Maddie Poppe.
Maddie wins a recording contract and a $250,000 cash prize.
She broke down in tears at the announcement of her victory, and sang her new single, “Going Going Gone.”
