A Tyson employee in Waterloo has died from the the coronavirus after a well publicized outbreak at the facility, according to KWWL. 44 year old Jose Ayala’s battle against COVID-19 was chronicled online. He received treatment at three different hospitals before succumbing to the virus at St Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He first received treatment back on April 12th and experienced many ups and downs. Advocates say that Ayala is at least the fifth Tyson employee from the Waterloo plant to die from the coronavirus.
