The manager of the Arby’s in Evansdale and her boyfriend, who is also an employee, have been arrested for setting fire to the restaurant, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 29 year old Ashley Lucas and 20 year old Kyle Gilson were both taken into custody and charged with second degree Arson. Police and Firefighters responded to an alarm at the Arby’s just before 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Authorities found a small fire near the kitchen door, which they stomped out and blasted with a fire extinguisher. There was minor damage to both sides of the door. An Arby’s regional manager reviewed security camera footage and allegedly saw Lucas in the store after closing time and shortly before the fire ignited. Gilson is not shown in the video but his voice can allegedly be heard asking about fire detectors.
