Three Cedar Valley high schools have been ranked inside the top 25% in the country with Waverly Shell Rock coming in just outside that mark, according to U.S. News and World Report. The rankings look at college readiness, reading and math proficiency and performance, under-served student performance, college curriculum breadth, and graduation rates. Cedar Falls was ranked as the 12th best school in the state and 2,439th nationally. Denver came in 23rd in the state and 3,515th nationally. Hudson was not far behind them, coming in at 27th in the state and 3,902nd nationally. W-SR ranked as the 33rd best school in the state and 4,712th nationally. Dunkerton and Tripoli both ranked in the bottom quarter of the state and the nation. Iowa is tied with North Dakota for 43rd for percentage of schools in the top 25% in the nation. That is up from 48 last year. Iowa City West came in as the top school in the state.
