A Waterloo man was arrested after attempting to take a child from a store Sunday night, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 25 year old Eduardo Cano allegedly grabbed a 10 year old boy at Independence Liquor and Food around 9:00 p.m. Sunday. He pulled the boy with his arm around his neck as the child was crying and attempting to get away. Bystanders and the boy’s sister were able to help the boy break free of Cano’s grasp. When officers arrived, Cano allegedly bit and pinched them. Cano later told police the boy was his brother but police say the two did not know each other. Cano has been charged with false imprisonment, interference causing injury and assault on an officer with intent to cause injury.
