Sumner Police made an arrest after an argument between a mother and a son became physical on Friday. Police were called 223 Chicago Street where an officer initially met with 38 year old Robert Hamby. Hamby was bleeding from his left eyebrow and had blood on his knuckles and hands. Hamby told the officer that his mom had struck him causing him to bleed. The officer contacted 60 year old Tammy Nelson who said the two had gotten into an argument after Hamby accused Nelson of stealing from him. During the argument Hamby allegedly backhanded Nelson. The officer noted Nelson had an apparent injury to her cheek. Nelson then told the officer that Hamby began hitting himself in order to claim that she had struck him. Hamby has been charged with Domestic Abuse Assault.
