Below is a release from the Waverly Police Dept:
On 09/09/2025, the Waverly Police Department responded to an assault call at a Waverly residence where the offender had fled the scene on a motorcycle. Officers contacted the offender, David Michael Risse (52) of Dysart, at a nearby convenience store and subsequently arrested Risse for Assault w/Intent to Inflict Serious Injury (aggravated misdemeanor) and Possession of Marijuana (enhanced aggravated misdemeanor). The offender was taken to the Bremer County Jail where he was released on a $4,300 bond amount. The victim of the assault was transported by ambulance to WHC for treatment of his injury.
**All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
