Two Mason City men have been arrested in connection to the attempted ATM burglaries in Dike back in January, according to KWWL. 30 year old Ryan Marek and 36 year old Brandon Hufstedler are accused of trying to remove the ATM from the lobby of Fidelity Bank in downtown Dike before using a crowbar and sledge hammer in an effort to gain access to the ATM at Peoples Savings Bank. The Reinbeck Memorial Building was also burglarized that same day. Minimal damage was reported and the thieves were unsuccessful at taking anything from the banks. Both Marek and Hufstedler face charges for 2nd Degree Burglary, three counts of 3rd degree Burglary, 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief, Operation Without Owners’ consent, and 3rd Degree Attempted Burglary.
