Update: law enforcement say they have the suspect in custody.
The Bremer County Sheriff’s office is reporting an attempted child abduction on Monday in Tripoli. Two ten-year-old boys were near the library when they were approached by an elderly male who told them he would give them money if they helped him to collect cans. The suspect then grabbed one of the boys but then let go when the other boy hit him with a hockey stick. The suspect is described as an elderly bald male with missing teeth. Surveillance video shows it may be an older blue Chevy/GMC 1500 with large items in the bed.
