A Waterloo man has been sentenced to 13 years in federal prison after firing his gun at another man in downtown Waterloo in November of 2022, according to KCRG. 22 year old Laindrell Cooper was a member of a gang when a fellow gang member got into a fight at a barbershop. Cooper came to the area where the fight had taken place clothed in black and with a gun. When he located the man his fellow gang member had fought with, he fired at least six shots. During this time another man whose family was in the area also fired his gun. Nobody was injured in the shooting. Cooper was already a felon, however, after a shooting in Waterloo on July 5th of 2021. He has now pleaded guilty to Possession of Ammunition by a Felon and was sentenced to 13 years in federal prison.
