A Waterloo woman convicted of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine has had her sentence commuted by President Joe Biden, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 43 year old Andrea Zavala was sentenced to nine years in prison back in 2017. The rest of her sentence will now be served as home confinement. A five year term of supervised release will follow the home confinement. Zavala sent ice meth from California to a man in Cedar Rapids from 2013 to 2016. 74 other people received commutations while three received pardons from President Biden as part of Second Chance Month.
