The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office has announced that they will begin patrolling the approximately 13 miles worth of bike trails between Waverly, Denver, and Readlyn. They will be in a fully marked Ranger. Their patrols will include evening and night patrols to help deter suspicious activities and vandalism. They will also be equipped with first aid equipment and an AED for any medical emergencies on the trails. They say this will also give them another opportunity to engage with the community, including handing out stickers, pencils, bracelets, and free ice cream cone tickets to the Sweet Spot in Denver to kids that are using helmets and practicing bicycle safety protocols.
