The Bird Flu has been detected in Bremer County, according to KWWL. The case was confirmed in a commercial turkey flock. The Iowa Department of Agriculture says this is the state’s first case in two weeks, but the seventeenth overall and ninth from a commercial turkey flock. This case will result in the killing of 30,000 birds. The Department says that flock owners should prevent contact between their birds and wild birds and should report sick birds and unusual deaths to officials. Experts do say that they expect cases of Bird Flu to diminish over the next few weeks and for egg prices to come back down.
