Another county in eastern Iowa is looking into whether to raise the minimum wage. Black Hawk County has formed a minimum wage advisory to study the impact of a potential wage increase and make a recommendation.
On Tuesday, the county board of supervisors formed the committee that will include elected officials, local business leaders and members of labor unions. It’s unclear when the committee will begin work.
Johnson, Linn and Polk counties have all passed minimum wage ordinances in recent years.
Currently, the state minimum wage is $7.25.
