Waterloo police responded to a home in the 400 block of Conger Street after receiving a report of bones found in the area.
The homeowner contacted police believing the bones could be human.
Police and a veterinarian discovered they were animal bones.
Authorities were on scene investigating for about three hours on Tuesday night.
