The Bremer Avenue Bridge project is well underway. The concrete deck is gone and about a third of the steal beams have been removed as they work from west to east on that.
Iowa Department of Transportation Field Coordinator Pete Hjelmstad shares what will be happening next.
Removal of the concrete piers will also begin in September. The substructure of the new bridge is supposed to be done before Spring creates higher river levels.
Many have wondered when the river will be cleaned up from the project and Hjelmstad answered that question.
Hjelmstad will join The Breakfast Club the first Wednesday of every month at 7:30 to provide an update.
