While most county fairs have been canceled or significantly limited due to COVID-19, the Buchanan County Fair kicks off Tuesday. It will not be a normal fair however but more of a hybrid fair. The 4-H shows will still take place however only the exhibitors and their family will be allowed at the show. There will be no carnival or grandstand events. There will still be vendors however offering all of the favorite fair foods. The beer garden will also be open, offering pop and beer and hosting live music. The dairy barn will also be open with cold treats to counteract the heat predicted this week. There will also be several virtual events for people of all ages. Admission is free for everybody. The Buchanan County Fair takes place in Independence.
