A building in downtown Waterloo partially collapsed Thursday, according to KWWL. The former Waterloo Candy Company building on West Park Avenue, which was built in the early 1900s, partially collapsed. Nobody was injured in the collapse. The public is asked to keep their distance from the build as a further collapse is possible. The owner of the building is Rich Penn. He says that when he bought the building his goal was to save it from demolition and that remains his goal. He says he wants to see it add more life to the downtown area. The surrounding roads will be closed off until there is no threat of a further collapse.
