On 11-23-20 at approximately 10:52 AM, Cedar Falls Police, Cedar Falls Fire Rescue and MercyOne Ambulance responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries and entrapment at the intersection of Hudson Rd and Viking Rd. The collision involved a transit bus with no passengers on board and a large scrap metal straight truck. The driver of the straight truck had minor injuries, but declined medical transport. The driver of the transit bus was trapped in the wreckage and required mechanical extracation. The bus driver suffered severe injuries and was transported to MeryOne Waterloo Medical Center by ambulance. A Cedar Falls Public Works vehicle was parked outside the traveled portion of the roadway and was struck by the bus after the collision. No city employees were injuried.
