Two city council seats in Cedar Falls were decided Tuesday night in a runoff election. The Black Hawk County Auditor’s Office is reporting that Dave Sires bested Nick Taiber for the at large city council seat. Sires received 2,337 votes while Taiber received 2,104 votes. In Ward 4 it was Simon Harding knocking off his opponent, Tom Blanford. Harding received 378 votes compared to Blanford’s 272. As of 4:00 p.m. Tuesday just 8.9% of eligible voters had cast a ballot, nearly 15% voted in November.
