There has been an update on the work going on at the C50 bridge. The paving contractor has confirmed that they will not have the approaches paved this winter. Bremer County crews will be on site in the coming days to prepare the temporary road to allow C50 to be open during the winter. A speed restriction and weight restriction will go before the Board next Tuesday. The anticipation is that the bridge will be open to traffic next week after some additional safety measures and signage are put in place. The placement of the rock on the approach this late in the season will likely make it difficult to maintain through the winter, so the public is asked to use caution when driving through this area.
