Firefighters in Waterloo saved a cat from a burning house on Tuesday, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Neighbors called 911 around 10:00 a.m. after noticing smoke and flames coming from a single story house at 1125 Downing Avenue. Nobody was home at the time of the fire. Firefighters found the cat hiding behind a couch and were able to get it out of the house. Paramedics gave the cat supplemental oxygen. The cat is expected to survive. The fire is believed to have started on the back porch before working its way into the home and into the attic. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
