Another arrest has been made in the ongoing investigation of catalytic converter thefts in Waterloo and Cedar Falls according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 34 year old Brandon Werkmeister has been arrested and charged with Ongoing Criminal Conduct. His bond was set at $25,000. His vehicle was seen leaving the scene of the crime on October 10th and tools often used in the thefts were found on October 18th and November 4th. Werkmeister wold remove the pollution control devices from parked vehicles and then sell them to a metal recycling business. He is also suspected of several thefts in Cedar Falls. Investigators found Facebook messages in which Werkmeister and others discussed the thefts and the sale of the converters.
