A rural New Hampton woman has been arrested in connection to the organized thefts of catalytic converters in the Waterloo area, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 22 year old Megan Heying has been charged with Ongoing Criminal Conduct. Authorities say she was involved in the sale of floor jacks and electric grinders, which are tools used in the thefts. They also found evidence that she sold three converters as scrap to Alter recycling in May. To date, at least 9 other people have been arrested as part of a ring that stole catalytic converters on more than 80 occasions since January of last year.
