Wednesday, May 16th the Waverly-Shell Rock Middle School is observing “Catch the Spirit Day,” a day honoring the memories of 7th-graders Megan Koepke and Jace Smith through community service and helping those in need.
As part of a Spirit Day service, 8th-graders from the Middle School are asking Waverly residents to please set out any redeemable cans and bottles to be collected between 9:00-11:00 a.m.
8th-grade English teacher Kent Prescott goes into more detail about his class’s overlapping project:
All of the proceeds will be shared among the various causes. If you live outside Waverly but would still like to help out, you may drop off your cans and bottles at the Middle School’s South parking lot in the large trailer that will be set out.
