The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home in rural Readlyn by a family struggling to care for their cats. After assessing the situation the sheriff’s office reached out to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, who agreed to assist. Yesterday the sheriff’s office and the ARL removed 27 cats from the home. The cats were taken to Des Moines where they will receive medical care and later be put up for adoption.
