A vote took place Monday evening to ban fireworks from being set off in Cedar Falls.
The Committee of the Whole voted four to two to support a ban.
Police Chief Jeff Olson reported to the committee on the more than 60 fireworks complaints this summer, and the challenges his officers face as they investigate them.
After the committee’s vote, the city will now work on writing an ordinance that will go before the city council.
