On 12/19/2024 at 4:55PM the Black Hawk County Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a residential fire in a basement at 2307 West 3rd Street in Cedar Falls. The person calling 911 reported the home was under construction and that there was a visible fire in the basement.
Responding Public Safety Officers and Firefighters arrived to find smoke throughout the home and a fire in the basement of the home. Firefighters learned that all persons were out of the home. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading.
The home sustained minor smoke and fire damage. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
