Cedar Valley Ascent has announced that they will continue to operate, separate from Cedar Valley Medical Specialists. Ascent operates the location in Waverly between HyVee and Miller True Value. They say they are navigating some operational changes but that their commitment to their patients and the communities they serve remains strong. Specifically they say their Skin Cancer Treatment services will continue to operate and patients will be informed of any changes affecting other services or appointments. CVMS abruptly ceased operations on Friday after defaulting on $15million worth of loans. Employees went unpaid and lost insurance coverage. Dr. Gregory Harter of Cedar Valley Family Medicine says that his clinic has partnered with the Waverly Health Center and will move from Tower Park Drive in Waterloo to Waverly. The exact location is unknown but is likely to be within the Waverly Health Center initially.
