A celebration of the history of the Farmers Exchange, Rock Island Depot, South Riverside Park, and the Ira and William Sturdevant Historic Districts will be held on Wednesday. There will be a guided tour of new and planned features, interpretive signage, and what life was like for Southwest Waverly citizens from before the Civil War through the first half of the 20th century. The event is sponsored by the Ira Sturdevant House and historian and Southwest Waverly native, Rick Sturdevant will make a presentation at the Farmers Exchange Building on the corner of 1st Street SW and 2nd Avenue SW beginning at 6:00 p.m.
