The man struck by a car in Waverly earlier this month has died from his injuries. 56 year old David Schmalz died Thursday.. He was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a hit and run in the early morning hours on December 15th. The driver of the car has been identified as 23 year old Michael Yeatman Jr. He has been charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. A Celebration of Life has been planned for Friday night at 9:00 at the Beach House in downtown Waverly.
