A Cedar Falls girl has been selected as the Kid Captain for the Iowa football game against Kent State this weekend, according to KWWL. 10 year old Galilea Gonzalez, along with the rest of this years participants, were originally selected for games last year but due to the pandemic they were shifted back to this year. Gonzalez was born via an emergency C-Section with a rare condition where he two main arteries leaving her heart were reversed. She was flown to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital where she endured multiple surgeries. She now wants to be an author and illustrator and enjoys school and gymnastics.
