A former State wrestling champ has been wounded in a school shooting in Colorado, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Eric Sinclair, who is a Cedar Falls graduate, is the Dean of Culture at Denver’s East High School. He and another staff member were conducting a search for weapons on a 17 year old student as part of safety plan when the student pulled out a gun, shot both staff members, and fled the scene. Sinclair was rushed to a Denver hospital where he is recovering from surgery. The other staff member is reportedly in good condition. A body was found near a vehicle connected to the suspect at a park. That body is thought to be that of the suspect. Sinclair won a State Title at Cedar Falls in 1997.
